These precious children remain at the center of what we do in SAO PH. To see them protected, nurtured, and thriving amidst an environment and circumstances that are often far from ideal fuels our desire to face the fiscal year (2022-2023) with GRIT. We passionately persevere because we experienced God’s grace in abundance! The resilience and tenacity of these young ones and the communities they belong to also spur us to do what we do with integrity and faithfulness.
Share An Opportunity Philippines has been on the threshold of many transitions this fiscal year. Almost two years into the pandemic characterized by lockdowns and standstill, SAO witnessed the easing pandemic-related restrictions, the slow and careful opening of domestic and international borders, and the reinvigoration of economic activities. While internally, SAO went through various organizational changes and the closing of a flagship program. All these require re-calibration, re-orientation, as well as letting go.
The pursuit of success in development work is tough. It is a journey not recommended for the faint of heart. The road is long and daunting. It is fraught with dangers, which lurk in every corner and every conceivable place of hiding, ready to pounce on the unsuspecting traveler at the blink of an eye.
Stumps are sometimes able to regenerate into new trees. Something seemingly old or useless can actually arise and have a new purpose. Despite its age and threats of closing shop, SAO Philippines receives a new wind. ARISE! is a collection of stories and testimonies of regeneration in the midst of lost hope and apprehension not just in the lives of children and families we serve, but of the organization as well.
