The MAKABATA Program aims to help create a safe & enabling environment for children to flourish and contribute to nation building by pursuing children’s development through a holistic lens where their social, physical, economic, cultural, and spiritual capabilities are considered; involving children and youth as critical players in their own development and the development of their communities; building community awareness of, involvement in, and unity around the needs and rights of children and growing the competencies and resources of families and community-based groups/institutions to be responsible and child-nurturing duty bearers.
COMMUNITIES ADAPT intends to build community resilience against and reducing vulnerabilities to climate change and disasters by building the capacities of coastal communities to assess their risks and capacities to prepare for disasters; ensuring that communities have disaster risk reduction plans in place; and that children and civil society are engaged in governance and coordination systems for disaster risk reduction and rehabilitation.
RESOURCE AND SERVICES DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM equips community organizations to be sustainable, child-nurturing, and effective in outreach by partnering with CBOs to promote environmentally friendly enterprises for livelihood opportunities and outreach to communities and children; training, coaching, and mentoring new community-based organization (CBO) enterprises; building linkages so CBO enterprise products/services enter the market and providing business development support for CBOs.
